Benefits of Koyamaki Onsen Therapy

Improve circulation, relieve pain, feel more energetic and revitalize your health. Scientists all over the world have long studied the treatment of disease by bathing. To get the most out of your soak, we recommend combining it with a massage. Explore some of the benefits of this unique therapy below.

Koyamaki wood

The beauty and scent of this wood are in itself therapy for your senses. Inhale the lime-scented fragrance of Koyamaki wood that is released when mixed with water and observe the visual beauty of the fine wood grain. The natural oils of the prized Koyamaki wood also have healing properties and are antibacterial and antifungal.

Anti-aging effect

The negative ions generated by our Onsen water neutralize the free radicals that age your body and discharge them out of your body. Such negative ions are also generated in nature by plants, waterfalls, fountains, waves and thunderstorms, and most of us have experienced the energizing effects of being near such natural occurrences. It refreshes your body and mind.
Note: A negative ion is an atom or molecule that has more electrons than protons.

Relieves pains

The ionized water and micro bubbles in our Onsen are effective in relieving rheumatic and arthritic pains. The heat along with the pressure of the water blocks pain receptors in our bodies and can help relieve chronic pain. A study in Oxford Journals showed that spa therapy and bath therapy may be effective for treating low back pain.

Stress relief

The negative ions generated by the water in our Onsen clear your mind and are a natural mood lifter. Feel your muscles melt and mentally unwind while you soak in the Onsen. The fresh fragrance of Koyamaki wood and swirling sound of energized water is a heavenly combination and together with scenery and relaxing music, we promise to send you into a state of utter relaxation.

Detoxification

The ionized water is balanced at the optimal temperature range of 38-42 degrees Celsius for promoting blood circulation and lymph movement that detoxifies and eases expulsion of toxins. In a heated bath, your body sweats and sweat removes waste products from your system. The oxygen dissolved in the micro bubbles (one tenth the size of a regular water bubble) cleanses the tiniest dirt particles and leaves skin clean, moisturized and soft.

Thermal work out

This is a form of workout using heated water to boost metabolism. As you immerse in our hot bath with ionized water, your body has to do a lot to cope with the high temperature, your circulation goes up and your metabolism increases thus burning some calories along the way.
